Okay, so you must have gotten a new calling or am I just slow on the gossip train? One thing a ward inour stake does is to encourage the girls to have Sunday Sixteen- set aside sixteen minutes to work on personal progress each Sunday. Sixteen minutes is a doable goal that usually turns into something longer but the girls will buy into the sixteen. Another ward has a testimony tree set up in their YW room that the girls will put a leaf on and share something that helped build their testimony or just state that they accomplished a goal in personal progress.
As to my best memory, we all made senior quilts. Each senior girl would pick out the fabric and batting and then we would go to ther house, our leader's house or the church and tie the quilt. I still have mine and think about the other girls that I was a Laurel with so many years ago.

I was the personal progress person in my ward and each sunday I would tell a little something about the value of the month. I also found these little value stickers that we used to mark the values in our scriptures. Colored ribbon would work good to for the girls to have them mark their scriptures. I hope I"m making sense. As a YW I remeber a leader going our of her way and giving me flowers on my B-Day. Good luck with your new call, i know you will do great.
