Sew What!?!

The other day I was telling the kids about my skills as a seamstress (or is it seamster? Is this the same as waitress and waiter?) Anyway, they were very interested to learn about when I was in highschool an started makingmy own shorts out of Moms bath towels, temporarily started a new trend and even took a few orders for friends. When I came home from work the next day they had talked Leslie into taking them to the store to buy towels. Cooper 'had' to have a pair for school the next day so we pulled out sewing machine and got started. My skills had deminished. It didn't help that we had no pins or a decent pair scissors. We got the first pair made but Leslie had to take over the mass production. I think we've made 10 pair to date. Here's a sampling. We also have added yet another animal to the Ark. It's lambing season and of course there are always bum lambs. We tried to save a couple but they didn't make it. Third times a charm so now we have Larry the lamb. (Wyatt does such a good job of Animal naming.) We've also added to new chickens at the egg laying plant. Because we need more eggs. They are called Little Jerry and Pez. That's Little Jerry on the left. Someone thought it would be a good idea to get some Easter chicks, then Easter day comes and goes and then What? City people. They should start producing next spring. They sleep on the porch with the dogs every night. Hopefully they will figure out they aren't dogs at some point.

As far as the house goes if this were Extreme Makeover: Home Edition we would be on day 7 quickly wrapping things up before the family gets back from vacation. A couple more weeks and we should be ready for our final inspection. Leo Carillo will be welcomed break.
